Expressions of Interest - Canteen Services

The FJFC is seeking expressions of interest to provide canteen services for three grounds for the forthcoming football season, running from Sunday April 11, 2010 until Sunday August 8 (16 weeks, with no games on 13 June and 4 July). There may also be finals over the three weeks following August 8.

The three grounds are: Ramsden Street Oval (Clifton Hill), Alfred Crescent, (Fitzroy) and Peterson Oval (Brunswick Street, Fitzroy). It is anticipated that between 2 and 4 games will be played at each oval each week during the season. Modern canteen facilities are provided at each ground.

Please send your expression of interest, including your experience and capacity to meet health compliance requirements of the City of Yarra to Michael Burke at [email protected] by no later than Wednesday March 17, 2010. The club can provide administrative assistance if required for the successful candidate.

Registration and Fees

ONLY players who registered before or on Registration Day on February 28 will be guaranteed a place in a team. Any players who register after Registration Day in circumstances where full teams are already formed in their age group will be placed on a waiting list, but may not get an opportunity to play. No registrations will be accepted after the end of the grading rounds (usually the 4th round). Pre-season training has commenced, or will shortly commence, for all age groups. Players will be contacted by the coaches with details.
Prompt payment of fees would be appreciated as the Club has sizeable expenses at this time of year. Players who have submitted their registration form can pay fees by returning the fee payment form with payment to PO Box 2447, Fitzroy, Vic 3065. As was the case last year, players will not be permitted to play until they are financial.

Season 2010 - Key Dates

The new season is nearly upon us, with the first official home and away game scheduled for the weekend after Easter. Key dates for the season are as follows:

- Sunday 28 March Practice matches against Ivanhoe JFC (see below)
- Sunday 11 April First game of season
- Sunday 13 June No game (Queen’s Birthday weekend)
- Sunday 4 July No game (school holidays)
- Sunday 8 August Last home and away game (round 16)
- Sunday 15, 22 & 29 Aug Finals.

Boot Swap 2010

Got any footy boots that don’t fit anymore or that need a new pair of feet? Sally Fawkes and Chris Grace, who have organised the boot swap for the past two seasons, have agreed to do it again this year. Boots can be dropped onto the front verandah at 14 Howitt St, Northcote, preferably cleaned. Sally and Chris will parade their wares at the 28 March practice match day, so donations before then would be greatly appreciated.

Order a FJFC Hoodie

The new FJFC hoodie made its debut at the club Registration Day on 28 February at the Brunswick St Oval, and proved hugely popular. They are available in sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, XS, M, L and XL and are fantastic value at $37.50.

Pre-ordered hoodies may be collected from 435 Canning St Carlton Nth at the following times.
- Wed 17 March 7pm to 8.30pm
- Sat 20 March 2pm-3.30pm
- Wed 24 March 7pm-8.30pm
They may also be collected at the practice match day against Ivanhoe (Ford Park) on 28 March.
