Update - Player Registration 2010

The new registration process is now well under way. All 2009 players should now have received their renewal forms by email or post. If you have not received this form, please contact our Registration Secretary Sally Marsden on 0425 885 069 or email sally.marsden@bigpond.com.

Prompt payment of fees would be appreciated as the Club has sizeable expenses at this time of year. Returning players who have submitted their registration form can pay fees by returning the fee payment form with payment to PO Box 2447, Fitzroy, Vic 3065, or by attending Registration Day at the Brunswick St Oval on Sunday 28 February 10am-1pm. If you intend to pay in person on Registration Day, please bring your fee payment form with you. As was the case last year, players will not be permitted to play until they are financial.

As earlier advised, Registration Day will be mainly for new players (in all age groups). New players should bring a completed Registration Form and a photocopy of their birth certificate or passport. A completed YJFL Registration and Transfer form must also be provided. Children born in 2001 are eligible to commence in U10s this year.

Our aim is to field only two teams in each age group and ONLY players who register before or on Registration Day will be guaranteed a place in a team. Any players who register after Registration Day in circumstances where two teams are already formed in their age group will be placed on a waiting list, but may not get an opportunity to play. No registrations will be accepted after the end of the grading rounds (usually the 4th round). The first official game will be on Sunday April 11. The commencement of pre-season training is in the hands of the coaches for each age group. Players will be contacted by the coaches with details. We will not have access to our usual match grounds before March 1.

Practice Match Day - 28 March

Keep Sunday 28 March free for this year's Practice Match Day against Ivanhoe FC.

Details about each team's game time will be provided closer to the event, but the day will be a great chance to get together before the season officially starts.

FJFC merchandise will also be on sale.

2010 Coaches

Coaches have now been appointed at all age groups except Colts. Congratulations to the following appointments:
- U10s: John Ramshaw, Raph Cotroneo, Silvano Inserra
- U11s: Graham Jorgensen, Phil Murdoch
- U12s: Dean Robinson, Anthony Rush
- U13s: Andy Roberts, Chris Bain
- U14s: Andy Lambert, Howard Scheid
- U15s: Omar Merhi.

Due to a late withdrawal, we are looking for coaches at the Colts level. Please contact Matt O’Connor on 0407 560 364 with expressions of interest. Whether additional coaches are required at other age groups will depend on registration numbers.

Royboys in the U18 Vic Metro Squad

Congratulations to ex FJFC players Viv Michie and Dylan Buckley who have both been named in the U18 Vic Metro squad for 2010.

Viv (below left) is currently at the Oakleigh Chargers and Dylan (below right) is at the Northern Knights.
