Hi footy fans,
a much better effort this week, even though we lost at least we had a real      
go, that last quarter...... the footy gods just weren’t with us......we just
couldn’t get the final goal we needed to win the game. We had our chances,
plenty of them, but it just wasn’t to be.

We dominated the last quarter, all except for 1 minute when they managed to
run the ball up there end and score a goal....... the killer goal. We had
all the play but couldn’t put them away, they had one chance and took it.
The last quarter was a complete reversal of the week before, when Hawthorn
Cits had all the play, the only difference being that they managed to kick
goals and we kicked points. We had no luck, when they had plenty right down
to the big torp that beat us.

To be honest this weeks game wasn’t really lost in the last quarter, the
thing that cost us was our disposal, some really great pieces of play that
were let down by poor disposal. Go back to the first quarter, we went
forward twice in the first 5 minutes, really positively..... only to kick it
straight to the opposition, chest marks in fact. We continued to do this all
day, great play let down with poor disposal. It happens, I know they are
only kids, even AFL players do it...... it cost them too!

Never the less, I still thought we played well, (except for the disposal) we           
gave our best, we tackled hard, chased hard and tried as hard as we could,
its a shame we didn’t get over the line.

We have one more opportunity, this week we play Bundoora, Glen Iris beat
them last week, if we beat them we go back on top of Macleod, 6th on the
ladder. All we need to do is put it together four quarters..........we beat
them last year, we can do it this year, lets go out on a good note, arm in
arm singing the song.

Some really good players this week:

Nathan F - best game for the year and BOG if you ask me, solid all day and
nearly won the game, taking mark after mark, then letting loose with his big
left foot.......ohhh so close, well done Nathan.

Simon - great to see you back, a great quarter in the forward line, found
the space and used the ball really well, I’ll give you another go there this
week.

David - we may have to keep you up until 1.30am more often, a great game
overall, no mistakes this week, a great effort at FB, even better on the
wing.

Bobby - the goal sneak, I think everybody was pleased to see you mark and
kick those 2 goals, well done champ!

Mike - not only did you get a lot of the ball........you always do, but you           
made them pay with a great goal, dad was pretty pleased by the way!

Calum - thought you played really well all day, presented well in the
forward line and toped it off with a great last quarter in the backline, a
bit of the old Calum coming back.

Dylan L - a terrific goal in the second, trademark Dylan stuff, also a super
effort to run number 24 down, he must have run 50 metres but you got him in
the end.

Jack - good to see you in the action, a couple of great marks, we still need
that goal...... this week hey!

Luke - another great game, lots of really hard pack work, saved us on many
occasions.

James - a good game overall, a brilliant last quarter in the guts and a
great overhead mark........nearly won the game for us.

............so many good players, how did we loose?

A special mention to Dri, a gusty effort to play the game out as sick as he
was!
