Today's match was against Ashburton at Burwood Reserve on another fine but windy day.

The team started off well after winning the toss & kicking with the wind.  Some great strong play saw the team win plenty of the ball which resulted in a 2 goal lead at quarter time.

The second quarter was a tight contest with Ashburton scoring the only goal of the quarter with the wind against some great Roy defence.

The third quarter saw some great long kicking and ball movement resulting in 3 goals with the wind for a great lead at 3 quarter time.

The last quarter had some close hard fought football with both teams scoring behinds, but unable to score any goals.  The Roys again showed great fighting spirit to keep control of the match and the win.

The team is playing some great team football as was seen in several passages of play, moving the ball quickly, as well as playing to position and winning most of the contests.  There was also the usual great team spirit along with some great skills shown by the boys in marking, kicking, handball, loose ball pickups and goalkicking.  Well done on another great game played in great spirit.
