Fitzroy Finals Frenzy!

There’s plenty more finals entertainment for FJFC fans over the next two weeks, with three teams advancing straight to Grand Finals on August 29 and four others with one more chance to get there.

It was a good day for the “evens”, but not so good for the “odds” on semi-final Sunday. The U10 Golds, U12 Browns and U14 Blues all recorded strong wins, and earned themselves a week off. The U11 Blues, U13 Browns, U15s and Colts 1 side went down, but all live to fight another day.

And that day is Sunday 22 August! There’s a FJFC Preliminary Final triple-header at Zerbes Reserve in East Doncaster (Melways 34 B10), kicking off with the U11s at 10.30am, followed by the U13s at 12.30pm and rounding out with the U15s from 2.30pm. The Colts take on Warrandyte at Templestowe Reserve (Melways 33 G4) at 12.30pm. This match will also mark 150 great games for FJFC by Colts players Eddie Gibbons and Jack Ford. Well done!

Those who make it to the U11s are in for a treat if virtuoso trumpeter Mick Creati isn’t fulfilling training duties on Sunday.

Other upcoming events include:

  • Grand Final Day Catch Up at the Fitzroy Bowling Club from 4.30pm on Sunday 29 August
  • Presentation Day at the Brunswick St Rooms on Sunday 5 September. Click here for further details.
